Well all... This is it...

I (Andrew) am heading home tomorrow, Nov 1st.
I get up at 5am, and will be home in Toronto at 6pm.
This also means that todays images are the last you
will get from Russia for a while.

Images from Ekaterinburg, Friday October 31, 2003

Maureen will now be on her own until her return around Nov 18.
(She'll go to Moscow with Bailey around Nov 14)

She will have email capability (using the terminal in the Hotel......or down the road at an internet cafe.)
SO we may not get daily updates, and since I am bringing my laptop home, there will be no way for
Maureen to upload any photographs!)

So.. a slightly larger gallery is given today.

It includes images taken at Ganyna Yama (Ganina Yama?)
the spot where the mine shafts were that the bodies of
the Czar and his family were thrown into, and then
grenades thrown in to help destroy them...
(the controversy, though is that the bodies were later
retrieved and moved to another location...and it was
from there that the remains were most recently exhumed
(in 1991) and sent for forensic testing and then burial
in St Petersburg....despite this fact, the church has

consecrated this ground as the resting place of the
Czar, and thus this Monastery community and churches has
grown)

...it was very interesting and beautiful!

..... See you soon...... look for infrequent updates from Maureen as the days go by.

.... Andrew (& Maureen)

Welllllll.....

That wasn't my last message.

Just a quick message to say that things don't always go as planned.

When leaving the hotel, the concierge said the flight was late.
We decided to go anyway to see what we could accomplish.

Turns out, the originating flight hadn't even left Moscow yet and that is a 2 1/2 hour flight

So at the moment I'm back at the hotel, waiting for the flight to arrive at 11:45am (remember it was supposed to leave Ekat at 7am)

So I'm delayed at least 5 hours..and will miss my connection in London on Air Canada.
..we'll see if Aeroflot can do anything to help with the missed connection....

Fun wow.....

As it is, I get to go to breakfast now, and then visit Bailey one more time in the Orphanage (Yea!)
Then back to the airport.

So... I may not arrive on Saturday Nov 1, but hopefully on Nov 2 sometime...

... Talk to you later..... Andrew
