Laura Riley Nash, We chose you before we gave you life,
and before you were born we selected you....
------------------------------------------
Holy God, we are gathered here, to honour this child who was not able to be brought to the fullness of life we hoped and intended for her.  We seek the comfort and knowledge of your love as given to us in Holy Scripture, in the gift of your child Jesus who dwelt and died among us, and in Your presence with us, as we bless Laura and commend her to your care.
-----------------------------------------
Let us remind ourselves of your knowledge of this child
in the words of Psalm 139:

You yourself created my inmost parts
you knit me together in my mothers womb

My body was not hidden from you
while I was being made in secret
and woven in the depths of the earth.

Your eyes beheld my limbs, yet unfinished in the womb;
all of them were written in your book;
they were fashioned day by day,
when as yet there were none of them.

Open the temple gates unto our love,
Open them wide that she may enter in,
And all the posts adorned as dost behove,
And all the pillars decked with garlands trim,
For to receive this Saint with honour due,
That cometh in to you...

Behold whiles she before the maker stands
Hearing the Holy Father that to her speaks
And blesseth her with his two happy hands.

How the red roses flush up in her cheeks,
And the pure snow with goodly vermillion stain,
Like crimson dyed in grain.

That even the Angels which continually,
About the Altar do remain,
Forget their service and about her fly,
Oft peeping in her face that seems more fair,
The more they on it stare....

Sing ye sweet Angels, Alleluya sing,
That all the woods answer and your echo ring.

Fly, fly little wing
Fly beyond imagining
The softest cloud, the whitest dove
Upon the wind of heavens love
Past the planets and the stars
leave this lonely world of ours
Escape the sorrow and the pain
And fly again

Fly, fly precious one
Your endless journey has begun
Take your gentle happiness
Far too beautiful for this
Cross over to the other shore
There is peace forevermore
But hold this mem'ry bittersweet
Until we meet

Fly, fly do not fear
Don't waste a breath, don't shed a tear
Your heart is pure, your soul is free
Be on your way, don't wait for me
Above the universe you'll climb
On beyond the hands of time
The moon will rise, the sun will set
But we won't forget

Fly, fly little wing
Fly where only angels sing
Fly away, the time is right
Go now, find the light

Celine Dion

Laura, you will be missed.
We will not forget you.
