Maison Jules Verne
2, rue Charles-Dubois,
Amiens
, France

This page lists some of the Occupants of what has become to be known as the
Maison Jules Verne, located at 2, rue Charles-Dubois, Amiens

At the time, October 2025, I was not aware of any book with a history of the house.
Surely some biographer has created a history of the house, but at this current time, I am unaware of it!

All the information has been found by me, online & using Newspaper Archives!

Maison Jules Verne History / Occupants

To start, this house, with the tower, is not the only house that Jules lived in in Amiens

here is a brief history to start:
Jules Verne lived at:

  • 1871 (summer) – 23 Boulevard Guyencourt
  • 1873 (September) – 44 Boulevard Longueville (now Boulevard Jules Verne)
  • 1882 (October) – 2 rue Charles Dubois - Jules moved here, but retained ownership (?) of the above at 44.
From what I have read, Jules RENTED this house.
  • 1866 (
  • 1886 (March 9) - At 5 o'clock in the evening, Jules is shot , at this house, by his nephew, M Gaston Verne (26)
  • 1900 (October) – 44 Boulevard Longueville - wtith failing health, Jules moved back to 44

In 1905, Jules passed away, and here is where my research of the occupants of the house AFTER Jules, began!

Mme Dupetit SORRY ... I HAD to include this reference to Mme Dupetit
It is just too crazy to NOT include!

IF it is the Mme Dupetit who eventually lived in the Jules Verne House,
IT MUST be included!
