Sampson Low, One Shilling, Jules Verne's Works

This set of books by Sampson Low, has a light blue, light cardboard cover, and were priced at One Shilling as indicated at the top of the cover.
The cover also identifies the series as "Jules Verne's Works, Low's Authorized & Illustrated Edition".

These books appear to always have a Fry's Cocoa ad on the back cover. This ad, is not always the same (unlike Pear's covers)

Inside the front, before the title page, are usualy commercial ads.
I have seen :
  • Keatings Cough Lozenges
  • Gresham Life Assurance
  • Eno's Fruit Salt
  • Pears' Soap
  • Lamplough's Pyretic Saline
  • Cadbury's Cocoa Essence
  • Weldon's Popular Fashion Magazines (Interesting! see the Weldon,/Goubaud, Publishers, Verne page!)
  • Osbornes Golden Drops (for deafness),
  • Date Coffee Co.

In the rear are mostly book ads. My copy of The Fur Country, Part 2, has a 24 page Sampson Low catalogue in the rear, plus 2 more pages of ads, before the back cover!

All of these have the publisher listed as Sampson Low, Marston, Searle, & Rivington Ltd, which puts the date of publication around 1876-1890 (Sampson Low History)

I do not know how many titles there are in this series. At the moment I have documented 29 different Titles, with 2 alternate covers (20k and The Blockade Runners) and have guessed, based on the Pears' edition, that there are a potential 44 different titles.
There are more books in this series that have been broken into 2 parts, than the Pears' series. There must have been a limit on how thick an "In Wraps" book could be!

Note, that these books are very fragile, and it is easy to find them with ripped covers, broken spines, and spines where the title has flaked off.

Shown below, 26 different covers, including the 2 alternates.

In this table, if a title is in Bold Italic with a YELLOW background, then the title is KNOWN to exist, but an image has not yet been found! To left, alternate

** This is an interesting anomaly in my collection.
The cover says "Dick Sands, Part.I." (This is a little difficult to see, because a previous owner, in pencil, adjusted the title to "Dick Sands, Part.II." because the contents of the volume, are "indeed" Part 2, 1882! )
Note also, that the cover is detached, the rear cover is missing, and the spine is "flecked" enough that it can't be told if the spine says ".I." or ".II.". It is quite possible someone "put" the detached cover of 1, on the body of 2 before sale!
