"In May 1923, when Second Fatherland finally appeared in English, almost a decade had passed since Sampson Low had offered a new work by Jules Verne. The initial two-volume edition was bound in plain plum colour cloth, with each volume containing eight full-page illustrations, different from the French. The titles of these books are Their Island Home and The Castaways of the Flag, parts one of two of the novel respectively, translated by Cranstoun Metcalfe."

Book Published: May, 1923

Ed Note: I don`t know how we will find out which is the TRUE first edition. My humble observation is that the Colour Overlay pair, surely cost more, and the plain pair were a "cheaper" version!
