By a Hybrid Volume, I mean a book, where, for example, the title page shows 1 publisher, and the spine shows a different publisher.

For Example:

  • Ward, Lock and Tyleer / Dodd, Mead & Co.

  • Sampson Low / J R Osgood
  • Ward Lock / Ward Lock Tyler

The front cover repeats the same design on the back cover, with the title, author's name and the St. Michel embossed in red on black cloth."
